I am new here – Meet the Staff

Mike Allen – Assistant Minister

Mike is married to Michelle, and they have two children. Mike looks after the Winston Hills congregation, and is also involved with the two evening congregations. Mike likes: taking the family to the beach, a hit of tennis, Community, Radiohead, Jesus, The Office, 30 Rock, growing chillis, bottomless portafilters, snorkelling and the Internet.

Leah Bishop – Children’s Worker

Leah oversees Just Girls, BOB, The Cage, Kids Church programs on a Sunday, and primary school scripture. She is keen to help parents teach their kids about Jesus and see families following Jesus together. She also leads the year 8 girls at Club Reg, and attends the 645 congregation where she is passionate to see new people come to know Jesus. Leah loves to bake, watch movies, eat good food, and she is also engaged to be married.

Blair Courtney-O’Connor – Assistant Minister

Blair is a passionate follower of the Lord Jesus Christ and enjoys serving him with the leaders of the 645 congregation and the senior high youth ministry. He is involved in discipling others to follow Jesus by spending time soaking in the Scriptures. He is married to his wonderful wife Kate and has two energetic daughters that he enjoys spending time with. He also enjoys going for a surf and saving the world in the latest computer game.

Kathy Hall – Office Manager

Kathy is married to Peter and they have been a part of NAC for over 30 years. They are a part of the 6.45 Congregation on Sunday night, discipling younger adults. Kathy is the office manager and ministries coordinator. She is the main interface for all NAC ministries and for outside ministries.

Neil Macken – Senior Minister

Neil and Robyn Macken and their family have been part of NAC for over 20 years. Neil’s special responsibilities include teaching the Bible and looking after our staff and Parish Council. He is very glad that God continues to grow NAC both numerically and in godliness. Robyn is involved in our 9.00am NAC congregation where she exercises various ministries. She leads a mothers and babies Bible Study each week. Recognising the importance of training future leaders she also helps organise and lead our girls group, Just Girls.

George May – Assistant Minister

George has had a background in science (particularly chemistry) and has worked for a number of years in Medical Research. He has served at Northmead for over 20 years, and currently has oversight of our 5pm congregation and the mission work of the Northmead Churches. He is the Executive Pastor and is also part of the congregation that meets at Winston Heights Public School (WHAC) on Sunday mornings. He loves teaching the Bible and training people in ministry.He is married to Barb, whose ministries include discipling women at WHAC and teaching ESL. They love spending time with their three adult children and and their grandchildren. George also enjoys running, cycling, reading and watching Dr Who for relaxation.

Jann van’t Spyker – Ministry Assistant

Jann and Fred have been at Northmead for 37 years and have served in a variety of roles.
A lot of Jann’s time is spent on the week to week organisation for the 5.00pm congregation of which she and Fred are members. She also supports ministries, such as ESL, ministry to women and assists on other projects as they arise. Jann is on the 5.00pm Discipleship Team and leads a ladies’ Bible study group.
She makes the best scones!
