9am Family Church

Congregation Feedback Form

Introduction

It’s been nine months since the new 9am Family Church congregation came into being, with not only a new church family but for many a new Sunday location and a new ministry model (the M model). This is not only a lot of change for some to take on board, but there has also been illness and grief that sadly comes with life this side of heaven.

We want to provide opportunity for members of the congregation to reflect on how the new 9am congregation is going in ‘Growing people passionate for Christ’. That’s our goal and its important that we are all working in a loving and intentional way to see each other (and ourselves) growing in Christ. To this end, please reflect upon the following passage from Romans 12, which is the foundation for the questionnaire below.

The 9am Leadership Team

Romans 12:1-13

Therefore, brothers and sisters, in view of the mercies of God, I urge you to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God; this is your true worship. 2 Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.

3 For by the grace given to me, I tell everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he should think. Instead, think sensibly, as God has distributed a measure of faith to each one. 4 Now as we have many parts in one body, and all the parts do not have the same function, 5 in the same way we who are many are one body in Christ and individually members of one another. 6 According to the grace given to us, we have different gifts: If prophecy, use it according to the proportion of one’s faith; 7 if service, use it in service; if teaching, in teaching; 8 if exhorting, in exhortation; giving, with generosity; leading, with diligence; showing mercy, with cheerfulness.

9 Let love be without hypocrisy. Detest evil; cling to what is good. 10 Love one another deeply as brothers and sisters. Outdo one another in showing honour. 11 Do not lack diligence in zeal; be fervent in the Spirit; serve the Lord. 12 Rejoice in hope; be patient in affliction; be persistent in prayer. 13 Share with the saints in their needs; pursue hospitality.

9am Family Church Feedback

Question 1

Therefore, brothers and sisters, in view of the mercies of God, I urge you to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God; this is your true worship. 2 Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God. (Romans 12:1-2)

How as a congregation are we going living ‘in view of the mercies of God’? Are the mercies of God central in our thinking and our conversations with each other? Are our hearts growing in thankfulness to God for his grace to us in Jesus Christ?

Question 2

For by the grace given to me, I tell everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he should think. Instead, think sensibly, as God has distributed a measure of faith to each one. 4 Now as we have many parts in one body, and all the parts do not have the same function, 5 in the same way we who are many are one body in Christ and individually members of one another. (Romans 12:3-5)

How as a congregation are we going being ‘one body in Christ’?  Are we growing in a sense of connection with each other? Are we caring for all parts of the church family well? Our older members, our little ones, the ones who grieve, the ones who are struggling with illness? How are we going including ‘all’ in the life of the congregation?

Question 3

According to the grace given to us, we have different gifts: If prophecy, use it according to the proportion of one’s faith; 7 if service, use it in service; if teaching, in teaching; 8 if exhorting, in exhortation; giving, with generosity; leading, with diligence; showing mercy, with cheerfulness. (Romans 12:6-7)

How are we serving with the various gifts we have been given? How are we living out the new family relationship which is part of meeting as a church? How are we going serving each other? How are we going serving with the different skills God has given to each of us?

Question 4

Let love be without hypocrisy. (Romans 12:9-13)

How are we experiencing the new model for our congregation’s leadership? Do we know who to talk to about ideas and issues? Do we know who is responsible for the different parts of the ministry? Have we participated in meetings or events for 9am other than our Sunday gatherings? How is the new leadership model helping us to ‘love one another deeply as brothers and sisters’?

Thank you very much for giving your time to fill in this form.
